One of the most popular modules has always been the minislider. Despite being fairly simple to use, the biggest problem was always that images had to be equal in size to avoid jumping off the page.

Now there is the MiniSlides module.

This module has an (ajax) uploader that automatically crops the images to fixed proportions. This ensures that all images are the same size and that the rest of the page does not skip.

The script that is used (swiperjs) does not require jQuery and will therefore not easily conflict with other scripts.
There is also a nice choice of different transitions, and the swipe functionality makes it very suitable for mobile devices.
